I grew up on a family farm, where something broke nearly every day and fixing it was part of the work. That's where I first mixed concrete, patching barn floors and setting posts so they'd stay put. I didn't think of it as a trade back then. I just learned that a patch on soft, loose dirt didn't last, and one on a solid base did.
I learned the trade properly on other people's crews, pouring driveways, patios and footings and paying attention to which jobs held up and which ones didn't. In 2020 I started Baseline Murrieta Concrete here in Murrieta, CA. Most of our calls come from homeowners in Murrieta and the cities around it, along with some small property owners who need a slab, a walk or a wall done right.
What I care about most is getting it right the first time, because concrete is hard to undo once it sets. A crack in the wrong spot or a slab that drains toward your house stays that way. So I'd rather measure twice and explain my reasons on site than leave you guessing later, and that's how our crew works.
